Isko Moreno announces 2022 presidential bid with Willie Ong as running mate

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, whose real name is Francisco Domagoso, formally announced his candidacy for president in the 2022 Philippine elections on September 22.

He made the announcement in front of his supporters at Baseco Compound, one of the poorest areas in Manila.

Doctor and public health advocate Willie Ong will be Moreno's running mate.

Moreno has remained firm on his presidential run, ruling out possibilities of running as vice presidential bet under a united opposition ticket.

Moreno promised that his administration would be transparent, would not resort to manufactured opinions and false praises, and that the truth will prevail over lies.

Should he win, Moreno vowed to be a "healing president," stating his government will be one of "reconstruction" and "national reconciliation."

He also added that he would not blame past administrations for problems his administration might encounter.
