INC urges Senate to continue probe on flood control anomalies, calls for public hearings

The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) is urging the Senate to continue its investigation into flood control project anomalies and is calling for the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) to hold public hearings.

INC Executive Minister Eduardo Manalo stated that holding those responsible for alleged theft of public funds accountable is essential for justice and deterrence.

Manalo emphasized that stopping the Senate investigation would hinder the attainment of justice.

He further stressed that ICI investigations should not be conducted in secret, as covert proceedings would likely lead to public distrust and exacerbate current chaos and uncertainty.

Manalo added that like many Filipinos, the INC is waiting for the results of the probe that should be truthful and trustworthy, and for the process to be done without doubt.

The INC believes that transparency and an unbiased approach without any cover-ups in the ongoing investigations are crucial for achieving peace and demonstrating the sincerity of those involved.

Malacañang reiterated the independence of the ICI, noting that President Marcos does not want a cover-up.
