Iloilo City tightens ECQ amid COVID-19 surge

Iloilo City has implemented stricter Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) measures until August 8 to combat the rise in COVID-19 cases and the potential spread of the Delta variant.

These heightened restrictions, effective from August 3 to August 8, limit the movement of individuals to essential activities such as obtaining necessities, commuting to work, getting vaccinated, and other authorized purposes.

The city has established border controls, restricting travel from Panay Island into Iloilo City via land, sea, and air.

Exceptions to the travel ban from Panay Island include individuals traveling for work, medical necessities, accessing government services, transporting goods, humanitarian reasons, vaccination appointments, returning Overseas Filipino Workers (ROFs), Iloilo City residents, Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR), and residents from Iloilo and Guimaras provinces.

Inbound travels from outside of Western Visayas will be temporarily suspended from August 4 to August 8, except for ROFs.
