Iloilo, CDO, Gingoog City under ECQ until July 31

Iloilo province, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro, and Gingoog City were placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) until July 31 based on recommendations from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

While initially causing confusion due to abrupt implementation, Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. clarified that the ECQ in Iloilo is more relaxed than last year's lockdown.

Unlike the previous ECQ, public transportation is allowed in Iloilo, there are no border restrictions, and quarantine passes are not required.

The current ECQ still prohibits non-essential mass gatherings and non-essential travel for individuals above 65 and below 18 years old.

A curfew is in place from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. in Iloilo province and Iloilo City.

As of July 17, Iloilo province recorded 2,553 active COVID-19 cases, and Iloilo City had 1,635 active cases.
