Gov't to provide aid to ECQ-hit households until July 31

The national government will provide financial and material assistance to households affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until July 31.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed that the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will give augmentation support to local government units (LGUs) in areas under ECQ.

ECQ has been imposed on Iloilo province, Iloilo City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental.

The DSWD is currently coordinating with LGUs to identify affected families and individuals eligible for aid.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines will assist in the immediate distribution of family food packs to these areas.

This assistance is in addition to the resources that the affected LGUs can provide.

Residents in ECQ zones are urged to strictly observe health protocols, and the public is encouraged to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
