ICC grants prosecution's request for deadline extension in Duterte case

The International Criminal Court (ICC) Pre-Trial Chamber 1 has granted the prosecution's request to extend deadlines for submitting documents related to the crimes against humanity case against former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

The prosecution must now complete the disclosure of arrest warrant materials for relevant witnesses by July 1, 2025.

Applications for redactions, non-disclosure of witnesses' identities, or non-disclosure of entire evidence items are due by June 16, 2025.

The Victims and Witnesses Unit must submit its observations on any such applications by the same date.

Responses to these applications are due by June 20, 2025.

The Pre-Trial Chamber I noted that neither Duterte's lawyers nor the Office of Public Counsel for Victims opposed the prosecution's request.
