House transmits P4.5-T 2021 budget bill to Senate

The House of Representatives has transmitted the proposed P4.506-trillion 2021 General Appropriations Bill (GAB) to the Senate, a day before the deadline.

Speaker Lord Allan Velasco announced the submission of the budget bill, emphasizing that it was sent ahead of the agreed-upon date.

The submitted version of the 2021 budget includes P20 billion in institutional amendments previously approved by a small committee formed by the Speaker.

These amendments, however, can only be officially incorporated into the final budget after the GAB has been passed by the Senate and then deliberated upon in a bicameral conference committee.
