House Assistant Majority Leader Ernesto Dionisio agreed, emphasizing that candidates should present their platforms to the public and that the basis for voting should be for the country, not for one person.

This sentiment was echoed by other lawmakers who criticized a PDP-Laban statement urging voters to elect senators who would stand with the Vice President in her impeachment proceedings.

PDP Laban's statement suggested that having more allies in the Senate would benefit the country, framing the impeachment as a 'numbers game'.

A two-thirds vote of all senators is required to convict the Vice President and remove her from office.
