House approves record P6.352 trillion budget for 2025

The House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved on third and final reading the P6.352-trillion General Appropriations Bill (GAB) for 2025, which is the largest national budget in the country's history.

A total of 285 members voted in favor of House Bill No. 10800, with only three voting against it and no abstentions.

This approval marks the culmination of an eight-week budget process in the House, starting with discussions on the National Expenditure Program on August 5.

The 2025 GAB is recognized as the final budget measure to be passed by the 19th Congress.

Following the approval, lawmakers will commence a six-week recess starting September 26 and will reconvene on November 4.

Malacañang had previously declared House Bill No. 10800 as an urgent piece of legislation, facilitating its swift passage through both second and third readings on the same day.
