Abante named House spox

Lawyer Priscilla Marie "Princess" Abante has been appointed as the House of Representatives' spokesperson for the 19th Congress and likely the 20th Congress.

Abante, daughter of Manila Representative Benny Abante, is the first to hold this position since the People Power Revolution in 1986.

She accepted the role to help the House leadership deliver "accurate, transparent and truthful information."

Abante aims to disseminate information that can be understood by the public, explaining congressional policies and their benefits to the country.

With degrees in journalism and law from the University of Santo Tomas, her previous roles include a three-term Manila councilor and head of the Manila Public Information Office.
