Hontiveros: Chinese vaccines okay if FDA-approved

Senator Risa Hontiveros stated that Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccines should not be excluded from the Philippines' choices if they are approved by the FDA.

Hontiveros emphasized that the origin or manufacturer of a vaccine is irrelevant as long as it passes the FDA's approval.

She believes that having more vaccine options available in the country is beneficial for the Filipino people.

The senator advised the government to be cautious of any attempts to fast-track or prioritize certain vaccines due to perceived special relationships.

Hontiveros stated that the essential requirement is for every vaccine platform to be approved by the FDA, and there is no need to eliminate any candidates at this stage.
