Health Sec Duque to resign after COA findings addressed

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III has stated that he will resign from his position after addressing all findings and recommendations made by the Commission on Audit (COA) regarding the Department of Health (DOH).

Duque's announcement came after Senator Bong Go advised him to make the "supreme sacrifice when the right time comes."

He expressed his wish to "clear the COA findings, COA observations, and our action plans to the recommendations" before stepping down.

The Health Secretary is currently coordinating with DOH regional office heads, hospital chiefs, and treatment rehabilitation center leaders to ensure compliance with the COA's requirements.
