Hatid Tulong program brings LSIs to Koronadal, Butuan, Bicol

184 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Metro Manila arrived in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, via land travel as part of the 'Hatid Tulong' program.

Of the 184 LSIs, 62 are from South Cotabato, 34 from Sarangani, and 22 from General Santos City.

The Department of Health Region XII assured the public that the LSIs were placed under quarantine and underwent COVID-19 testing in accordance with protocols.

At present, there are 122 positive and active cases of COVID-19 in the region, with five recoveries.

More than 20 LSIs at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex have tested positive for the virus through rapid testing on Tuesday.

Separately, 362 LSIs from Metro Manila arrived in Butuan City via passenger buses from Cagayan de Oro City on Monday.

These 362 LSIs, affected by the lockdown due to COVID-19, were sent home through the government's 'Hatid Tulong Program' and will undergo a 14-day quarantine.

The 362 LSIs were from various areas in Northeastern Mindanao, including Butuan City, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and the Province of Dinagat Islands.

Additionally, 155 LSIs from Metro Manila arrived in the Bicol region via train through the Department of Transportation's (DOTr) 'Hatid Tulong' program.

This brings the total number of LSIs sent home to Bicol through the program to 570.
