Habagat, LPA trough to bring rains across PH

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) are expected to bring rains across various parts of the Philippines within the next 24 hours.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and northern Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Habagat.

The LPA's trough is forecast to cause similar conditions in the Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Northern Samar, Samar, and Eastern Samar.

PAGASA has warned the public about the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall, which could lead to flash floods and landslides in the affected areas.

Localized thunderstorms are also anticipated to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to the rest of the country.

While there is a low chance of the LPA developing into a tropical depression, PAGASA has not entirely ruled out the possibility of it becoming a storm within the next 24 to 48 hours.
