GSIS: Over P1.5B in emergency loans released to calamity-hit members, pensioners
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has disbursed over P1.5 billion in emergency loans to more than 44,000 members and pensioners affected by tropical cyclones Dante, Crising, Emong, and other recent calamities.
The emergency loan program offers up to P40,000 for active members and P20,000 for pensioners.
These loans have an annual interest rate of 6 percent, payable over 36 monthly installments.
The loan includes a Loan Redemption Insurance, which cancels the debt upon the borrower's death, provided payments are current.
