340 Filipinos in Israel seek repatriation amid rising tensions

A total of 340 Filipinos in Israel have requested repatriation due to rising Middle East tensions.

The first batch of 31 OFWs, including 26 from Israel, arrived in Manila on Tuesday, with some experiencing missile attacks and fear for their lives.

Among the repatriates were a pregnant woman, a cancer patient, and an elderly sick OFW, all of whom are receiving care from the Department of Health.

OWWA reported that 50 more Filipinos from Israel are scheduled to arrive this week, but their flight was delayed due to the temporary suspension of Qatari air traffic.

Another 23 Filipinos in Israel have signed up for repatriation, and their flight details are being finalized.

OWWA administrator Patricia Yvonne Caunan stated that from the 340 requests, they identified the first batch of 26, the next 50, and the additional 23.

There are about 30,000 Filipinos currently in Israel.
