Proactive approach in canceling permits of foreign POGO workers pushed
Senator Sherwin Gatchalian urged the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to proactively cancel alien employment permits (AEPs) for foreign workers in Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

President Marcos issued Executive Order (EO) 74 on November 5, mandating the immediate prohibition of POGO operations, with the ban to be enforced after the legal framework concludes at the end of the year.
In 2024 alone, DOLE issued approximately 15,819 AEPs, while about 36,000 have been canceled since the ban was announced in July.
The DOLE is coordinating with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to cancel working visas and prevent illegal stays for foreigners with POGO-related AEPs.
