Gatchalian calls for unified strategy vs Pogo crimes

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian is urging Philippine law enforcement agencies, including the Philippine National Police, Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, National Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Immigration, and Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, to adopt a unified strategy against crimes associated with Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (Pogos).

He warned that a lack of coordination could hinder anti-Pogo efforts and allow illicit activities to persist.

Gatchalian emphasized that a consolidated approach would make the campaign against illegal Pogo operations more efficient and effective.

This call follows a recent "flawed" anti-Pogo operation at the Century Peak Tower in Ermita, Manila, where foreign suspects were reportedly released.

The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission stated that the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group spearheaded the operation without their consultation.
