Galeries Tower upsets Cignal HD Spikers to enter PVL quarterfinals

Galeries Tower barged into the PVL All-Filipino Conference quarterfinals after a stunning upset of third seed Cignal HD Spikers.

The Highrisers secured their first-ever playoff appearance in the league with a 25-17, 25-22, 19-25, 25-19 victory, avenging an earlier sweep loss to Cignal in January.

Ysa Jimenez led Galeries with 23 points, anchored on 22 attacks, while France Ronquillo added 20 points in the historic win.

Jewel Encarnacion contributed 11 points, Fen Emnas provided 14 excellent sets and 10 excellent digs, and Alyssa Eroa made 28 excellent digs.
