Gab Cabangon releases debut single 'Pieces' about grief and hope

Filipino singer-songwriter Gab Cabangon has officially launched his solo career with the release of his debut single, "Pieces."

The acoustic indie-pop track speaks to listeners navigating grief, uncertainty, and depression, inviting vulnerability while holding on to the hope of healing.

Originally written as an anniversary gift during the pandemic, the song is described by Cabangon as a metaphor for picking up and repairing broken pieces.

He noted that the song resonated with many people during the pandemic's livestreams, leading him to choose it as his official debut single to represent his musical style.

Cabangon collaborated with music director David Lina for production, and mixing and mastering were handled by Shadiel "Shad" Chan and Jan Fuertez.

Prior to his solo endeavor, Cabangon served as the executive director of Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM) and was the frontman for the band KE.
