House Speaker Dy wants flood control probe findings submitted to ICI amid evidence tampering claims

House Speaker Bojie Dy has proposed submitting the findings of the House probe into fraudulent flood control projects to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) due to allegations of evidence tampering.

ICI Chairperson retired Justice Andres Reyes confirmed that evidence related to the flood control projects investigation has been tampered with or destroyed, calling it an obstruction of justice.

He emphasized that tampering with public works records is a grave offense with administrative and criminal liability.

The House infrastructure committee initiated a parallel probe after the Senate's investigation into similar anomalies.

In response to alleged irregularities, a House committee is finalizing amendments to the 2026 national budget, rechanneling P255 billion from flood control to education and health.

House Speaker Dy revoked the travel clearance of Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldy Co, who is reportedly in the US for medical treatment amidst the controversy.

The House leadership is working to ensure Co complies with the directive to return within a 10-day window, facing possible sanctions and legal action if he fails to comply.
