NBI arrests ex-Manila councilor allegedly involved in kidnap for ransom case
Former Manila councilor Roderick Valbuena has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after arriving from Las Vegas.
Valbuena is facing charges of kidnapping for ransom, with a case filed against him before the Makati City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 61.
He is one of five individuals accused in the said kidnapping for ransom case.
The arrest was carried out by NBI operatives at NAIA under an existing arrest warrant issued by the RTC.
Following his apprehension, Valbuena was processed at the NBI-NCR and subsequently transferred to the NBI detention facility in Muntinlupa City.
