DMW Secretary Cacdac is traveling to Djibouti with the seafarer's wife and sister to arrange for the repatriation of the remains.

The deceased seafarer was one of two Filipinos injured in the attack; the other sustained minor injuries.

Eleven of the twelve Filipino crew members aboard the MV Minervagracht have since been repatriated to the Philippines.
