Filipino gymnasts arrive at Olympic Village for Paris 2024

Filipino gymnasts Carlos Yulo, Emma Malabuyo, Aleah Finnegan, and Levi Ruivivar have arrived at the Olympic Village for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Gymnastics events will take place at Bercy Arena from July 27 to August 5.

Carlos Yulo, a household name, will compete in the men's individual all-around qualification round starting at 9:30 p.m. PH time, following his success at the 2024 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championship.

Men will compete on six apparatus: floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars, and horizontal bars, while women will compete on vault, asymmetric bars, balance beam, and floor.

Qualification rounds will determine who advances to the team, individual all-around, and individual apparatus finals, with eight teams eligible for the finals.

A total of 14 medals are at stake in the gymnastics events, with two medals for team events and 12 for individual competitions.

World champion gymnast Carlos Yulo, boxer Eumir Marcial, and rower Joanie Delgaco are set to kick off the Philippines' medal bid on July 27.

Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham Tolentino hopes this year's batch will match or surpass the medal achievements of Tokyo 2020, including Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo's gold.

A total of 22 Filipino athletes are competing in the Paris Summer Games.
