Filipino-American gymnast excluded from PH Olympic homecoming events

Filipino-American gymnast Levi Jung-Ruivivar expressed deep disappointment for being excluded from the Philippine Olympic contingent's homecoming events in Paris.

She stated she was informed by the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) president that the event was only for medalists, which contradicted her later discovery that most of the 22-person delegation attended.

Jung-Ruivivar, along with fellow gymnasts Emma Malabuyo and Aleah Finnegan, and golfers Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina, were absent from the Malacañang reception and subsequent parade.

The incident has sparked controversy and outrage among supporters, leading to calls for the removal of GAP President Cynthia Carrion due to her handling of the situation and communication.
