Filipinas and men's U22 teams make SEA Games history by reaching semifinals

The Philippine women's football team, the Filipinas, have made history by qualifying for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games semifinals.

This achievement, coupled with the men's U22 team also reaching the semifinals, marks the first time both Philippine football teams have advanced to the Final Four in the same SEA Games edition.

The Filipinas secured their spot with a dominant 6-0 victory over Malaysia.

Filipinas coach Mark Torcaso expressed excitement for the country and the federation, highlighting the potential for a third team, the women's futsal team, to also reach the semifinals.

Philippine Football Federation president John Gutierrez congratulated the nation on this milestone but emphasized that the work is not over, aiming for spots in the finals for both men's and women's football, as well as women's futsal.
