Filipina Olympians wear own attire over uniform woes

Filipina golfers Dottie Ardina and Bianca Pagdanganan faced uniform issues at the Paris 2024 Olympics due to logistical problems with the official apparel sponsor, Adidas.

The initial golf uniform design was disapproved by the IOC, leading to a revised design being sent only a week before the opening ceremony.

Several boxes of apparel were sent via courier directly to Paris, but French customs held the package, and it was not released in time.

Sets of competition gear were arranged to be produced locally in Paris.

Pagdanganan wore Adidas apparel during practice, while Ardina used her competition uniform in the first round.

In subsequent rounds, both athletes opted to wear their personal attire, creatively displaying the Philippine flag.

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) stated that the apparel was provided for free by Adidas with no monetary arrangement and called the issue an 'isolated case'.
