Filipina crowned Miss Asia Pacific International first runner-up

The Philippines' representative, Anita Rose Gomez, was crowned Miss Asia Pacific International first runner-up in the coronation night held at the Cebu Coliseum.

Brazil's Isabela Fernandes won the Miss Asia Pacific International title, succeeding the US' Janelis Leyba.

Fernandes was crowned by Miss Asia Pacific International 2018 Sharifa Akeel after emerging victorious over 42 other candidates.

Gomez, who was among the Top 5 finalists, also won Best in Swimsuit and First Runner-Up for Best in Evening Gown during the preliminary competition.

She earned additional special awards including Miss Cinderella Drip, Miss Hotel 101, Miss RMBZ, and Miss Brainstrong.

Gomez's question-and-answer response emphasized the significance of individual stories and shared experiences, referencing the recent earthquake in Cebu and the pageant's Benefit Gala Night.

Fernandes' winning answer for the "Transformation Journey: Her Story Ablaze" theme focused on continuous growth and self-awareness.
