UAAP: Janrey Pasaol named as Season 88 MVP
Far Eastern University's Janrey Pasaol has been officially named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for Season 88 of the UAAP.
Pasaol secured the MVP award by topping the Statistical Points (SPs) race with 81.5, despite his team missing the Final 4.
He showcased his all-around skills with impressive averages of 15.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 2.1 steals per game.
University of Santo Tomas' Collins Akowe earned Rookie of the Year honors.
Akowe's performance included averages of 16.4 points and 14.5 rebounds, placing him third in the overall SPs race with 79.286.
Pasaol and Akowe were also selected to the UAAP Elite Team, which includes Mike Phillips from La Salle, Jake Figueroa from NU, and Nic Cabañero from UST.
Pasaol is the first Tamaraw to win the MVP award since Terrence Romeo in 2013.
