Trillanes files COC for Caloocan mayoralty race

Former Senator Antonio "Sonny" Trillanes IV filed his Certificate of Candidacy for Caloocan City mayor on Thursday, October 3.

He was accompanied by his running mate for vice mayor, PJ Malonzo, and their slate of city councilors.

Trillanes aims to address the city's problems and lift residents out of poverty.

He acknowledged the uphill battle against incumbent Mayor Along Malapitan, whom he described as a "corrupt political dynasty" that has held the city's top office for 11 years.

The Malapitan clan has held the city's top office for 11 years, with Along's father, Oca, serving from 2013 to 2022, and Along from 2022 onwards.

Trillanes intends to dismantle this corrupt political dynasty and vowed to bring governance with a track record of proven integrity and honesty.

His platform includes making Caloocan a business-friendly city to attract investments and generate employment.

He also stated that recovered funds from anti-corruption efforts will be used to provide better services to residents.
