Ex-military chiefs, diplomats back Robredo's presidential bid

In a rare and significant show of support, former military chiefs and career diplomats have publicly endorsed Vice President Leni Robredo's presidential candidacy.

At least four former chiefs of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and 42 retired career diplomats from various past administrations signed a statement backing Robredo.

The endorsement was also supported by former Cabinet secretaries and officials from the administration of the late former President Benigno Aquino III.

These public servants, traditionally known for their apolitical stance, stated that the next Philippine president must possess a 'vision of greatness, prosperity, independence, and self-respect.'

This move follows a previous endorsement of Robredo by 23 former Cabinet secretaries and officials from the Fidel Ramos administration.
