Ex-DPWH Bulacan exec to submit SALN on ghost project probe

Former DPWH Bulacan District Engineer Henry Alcantara has agreed to submit his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) to the House Infrastructure Committee for their review regarding a P96 million "ghost" flood control project.

However, Alcantara declined to sign waivers for his bank and phone records, citing his right to privacy due to personal and family-related information contained within.

This stance contrasts with his former subordinate, Assistant DPWH District Engineer Brice Ericson Hernandez, who was willing to sign similar waivers.

Both Alcantara and Hernandez are implicated in anomalous flood control projects in Bulacan, which were personally inspected by President Marcos Jr.

Alcantara previously denied knowingly approving ghost projects, attributing his actions to negligence when signing completion certificates for projects that turned out to be nonexistent.
