Senate files resolution honoring Nora Aunor

Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada filed proposed Senate Resolution 1337 to honor National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor.

The resolution also conveys the Senate's condolences to Aunor's family, who died of acute respiratory failure on April 16 at the age of 71.

He noted her rise from humble beginnings in Camarines Sur to becoming an iconic and decorated figure in the Philippine film industry.

The resolution acknowledges the significance of Aunor being conferred the National Artist title in 2022, solidifying her status as a revered cultural treasure.

Estrada also mentioned her multiple Best Actress awards from prestigious award-giving bodies such as Gawad Urian, FAMAS, and the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Aunor's legacy as the 'one and only Superstar' of Philippine Cinema will forever be etched in history.
