BacMan temporarily energizes Albay, Sorsogon
Energy Development Corp. (EDC) is providing temporary power to typhoon-hit areas in Albay and Sorsogon, delivering 20 to 40 megawatts to assist around 400,000 households.
The geothermal company's Bacon-Manito facility is supplying power to Sorsogon I Electric Cooperative, Sorsogon II Electric Cooperative, and Albay Electric Cooperative, even without formal agreements.
This initiative is supported by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), enabling power restoration for the affected provinces.
EDC is also distributing over 2,300 sacks of rice to Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, and Camarines Sur, along with food packs and bread for severely affected families in Guinobatan, Albay.
Albay and Sorsogon have been without electricity since November 1 due to extensive damage to power lines and facilities caused by Super Typhoon Rolly.
