PAGASA warns of rains, alerts on high heat index across PH

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned of rains due to easterlies affecting several parts of the country.

Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA also alerted the public about the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

A dangerous heat index level of 42°C is forecast for Dagupan City, Aparri in Cagayan, and Zamboanga City.

Metro Manila and most other areas are under the "extreme caution" level, with heat indices expected between 31°C and 41°C.
