EAC halts losing skid, downs CSB in NCAA men's basketball

Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) secured a tight 78-76 victory against De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (CSB) in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

JP Maguliano led EAC with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds, supported by fellow veterans Ralph Robin (17 points), Nat Cosejo (16 points), and King Gurtiza (12 points).

Despite being down at halftime, EAC mounted a comeback in the second half, including an 8-1 run to regain momentum.

CSB attempted a late rally in the fourth quarter, with team captain Robi Nayve scoring a game-high 23 points, but free throws from EAC sealed the win.

Nayve had a chance to tie the game from the free-throw line with 3.4 seconds left but only made one of three.

Miguel Corteza and Will Gozum added 15 and 14 points, respectively, for CSB, while EAC's defense limited Migs Oczon to just 3 points.

The win improved EAC's standing to 5-3, ending their losing streak, while CSB dropped to 4-4, ending their three-game winning streak.
