Duterte vows to visit Taal areas despite health warnings

President Rodrigo Duterte stated he would visit areas affected by the Taal Volcano eruption, despite his doctor's warnings about the dangers of volcanic ashfall.

During an ambush interview, Duterte defiantly declared he would "eat that ashfall" and even "pee on Taal Volcano."

He acknowledged his doctor's advice to be cautious due to his compromised lung health from years of smoking.

Duterte, who often uses an inhaler, mentioned that the device might not protect him from volcanic ash.

The President made these remarks after receiving the Order of Lapu-Lapu for soldiers who served in Marawi.

Duterte has previously missed official engagements due to various health issues, including past spinal problems.
