Duterte to announce May quarantine protocols Wednesday

President Rodrigo Duterte will announce the quarantine protocols for May, including for the NCR Plus bubble, this Wednesday.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque stated that the President himself might make the announcement during his scheduled 'Talk to the People' address.

The current modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila and the provinces of Laguna, Cavite, Bulacan, and Rizal is set to expire on April 30.

These areas were previously under the strictest enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) for two weeks starting March 29.

Recommendations for the next quarantine classifications will be based on daily attack rates, two-week attack rates, and healthcare utilization.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases is scheduled to convene on Tuesday to discuss these recommendations.
