Duterte met with Marcos Jr. ahead of PDP-Laban endorsement

Malacañang confirmed that President Rodrigo Duterte recently met with presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

Communications Secretary Martin Andanar described the meeting as cordial and productive, where the President shared his experiences and insights as an outgoing Chief Executive.

During the meeting, President Duterte also discussed the government's major achievements and gave Marcos advice.

The President expressed optimism that his administration's notable programs and projects will be continued by the next administration.

Senator Christopher "Bong" Go confirmed the meeting occurred over the weekend, prior to the PDP-Laban Cusi wing endorsing Marcos.

Go stated it was a private meeting arranged by party leaders.

However, both Andanar and Go clarified they had no knowledge of whether President Duterte personally supports Marcos' candidacy, despite the endorsement from PDP-Laban.
