Duterte: Less than half of low-income households received cash aid as of April 24

President Rodrigo Duterte reported that less than half of the 18 million low-income households initially targeted for emergency cash aid have received the assistance as of April 24.

Duterte has since approved an additional four million beneficiaries, expanding the program to include all those in need.

The government has disbursed over P31 billion of the allocated P100.9 billion for the emergency cash subsidy program.

Among those who received aid, 3.7 million are from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), 2.5 million are non-4Ps beneficiaries, and over 40,000 are transport service drivers.

Another 1.3 million beneficiaries are identified to receive cash assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment and Department of Agriculture.
