DSWD has P884M standby funds, goods for typhoon victims

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has P884 million in standby funds and stockpiles ready to assist those affected by Typhoon Rolly.

Of this amount, around P115 million are ready-to-eat family food packs, with another P180 million worth of food items being packed.

Additionally, P279 million worth of non-food items, including tents, kitchen utensils, and hygiene kits, were prepared.

The DSWD has prepositioned 260,164 family food packs in strategic areas across the country.

DSWD quick reaction teams (QRTs) have been deployed to field offices and are on alert status to respond to any eventuality.

They are ready to assist local government units (LGUs) in rendering immediate and timely disaster response.

Emergency equipment has been prepared to ensure communication means among disaster teams during operations.

The DSWD reminded the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with their LGUs to ensure their safety.
