DPWH to rehabilitate northbound EDSA starting March 24

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will begin major rehabilitation on the northbound section of EDSA, from Balintawak to Monumento, starting March 24, 2025.

The approximately six-month project is expected to finish by the "Ber" months of 2025, with the EDSA Busway to be replaced with new and stronger pavement.

Malacañang assured commuters that the EDSA Busway will remain operational during the rehabilitation, with its operation to be fixed to avoid traffic.

Buses will be relocated to adjacent lanes during rehabilitation and will return once segments are fully repaired.

Construction will occur 24 hours a day, one lane at a time, using reinforced concrete, anti-rutting and cracking measures, and improved drainage.

The DPWH also plans to widen EDSA's drainage system.

Southbound rehabilitation will start once funding and contracts are approved.

Authorities have committed to completing the project before the Philippines hosts the ASEAN Summit in 2026.
