Gov't eyes full NSCR North ROW by 2026
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) aims to complete right-of-way (ROW) acquisition for the northern section of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) by mid-2026.
This target follows the successful resolution of six remaining ROW issues in Bulacan and Pampanga, clearing properties in Clark International Airport, SM Clark, Brgy. Pulungbulo in Angeles, Brgy. Sto. Niño in San Fernando, Brgy. San Vicente in Apalit, and Brgy. Iba Este in Calumpit.
Transportation Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez expressed gratitude to local government units (LGUs) in critical areas for their support in accelerating the land acquisition process.
The clearing of these ROW issues is crucial for addressing bottlenecks that have historically delayed the NSCR's development.
Lopez also credited the efforts of the Right-of-Way and Site Acquisition Team led by Transportation Assistant Secretary IC Calaguas.
The Malolos Station is also nearing completion as part of the project.
