DOTr clarifies acting secretary did not mean to humiliate station manager

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) clarified that acting Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez did not intend to humiliate the LRT-1 Baclaran Station manager during a recent inspection.

Lopez became visibly frustrated upon observing the neglected facilities at the LRT-1 Baclaran Station.

The DOTr stated that the acting secretary's remarks were driven by his concern for commuter welfare and the expectation that facilities should meet high standards.

The department emphasized that it is the station manager's duty to ensure commuter needs are met, and lapses require accountability.

The DOTr also noted that Lopez called for shared responsibility from the LRMC upper management, the private operator of LRT-1, which was acknowledged.
