DOT green lights Mayor Isko's proposed temporary mobile hospital at Rizal Park
The Department of Tourism (DOT) has approved Manila Mayor Isko Moreno's proposal to establish a temporary mobile hospital at Rizal Park's Burnham Green.
The National Parks Development Committee (NPDC), an attached agency of the DOT, unanimously approved the proposal.
The Manila City Hall will cover all expenses for the hospital's design, construction, maintenance, and management, and will restore the Burnham Green area afterward.
A temporary drive-through vaccination site will also be set up at the Parade Grounds of the Quirino Grandstand, beside the existing drive-through RT-PCR testing facility.
This vaccination site is expected to accommodate 350 to 400 vaccinees per day.
These repurposed tourism sites aim to support public health and safety efforts during the crisis and will be accessible to everyone.
