DOT allows NCR Plus staycation, ‘P2P’ air travel
The Department of Tourism announced that 5,986 hotel rooms in 13 staycation hotels within the National Capital Region (NCR) are now available for leisure stays under the current General Community Quarantine (GCQ) with heightened restrictions.
These 13 hotels include well-known establishments such as Grand Hyatt Hotel, Okada Manila Hotel, and Shangri-la at the Fort.
The DOT Secretary, Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, emphasized that the health and safety of guests and tourism workers are the top priorities, and that these hotels have been inspected and oriented on new normal protocols.
Only guests aged 18 to 65 years old and residing within the NCR Plus area, which includes Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, are permitted to book these staycation rooms.
Furthermore, it was clarified that these staycation hotels are not currently being used as COVID-19 quarantine facilities.
