DOH reports 82 new COVID-19 recoveries, 1,721 new cases

As of Monday, December 21, 2020, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 82 additional recoveries from COVID-19, increasing the total number of recoveries to 429,207.

The country logged 1,721 new confirmed cases, bringing the total active cases to 23,341.

Ten new deaths were recorded, raising the total COVID-19 fatalities to 8,957.

Davao City reported the highest number of new cases with 151 infections, followed by Quezon City, Rizal, Laguna, and the City of Manila.

The DOH noted that approximately 82.2 percent of active cases are mild, while the rest are asymptomatic, severe, moderate, or in critical condition.

Five duplicates were removed from the total case count, and four previously recovered cases were reclassified as deaths after validation.
