DOH reports 17,922 new COVID-19 recoveries

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 17,922 new recoveries, bringing the total to 1,777,693, or 91 percent of all infections.

The country recorded 18,528 new infections, increasing total active cases to 143,221.

Of the active cases, 95.3 percent have mild symptoms, 2 percent are asymptomatic, 1.1 percent have severe symptoms, 1 percent are moderate, and 0.6 percent are critical.

There were 101 new deaths reported, bringing the total Covid-19 death toll to 33,109.

On August 27, 27.9 percent of 66,225 tested individuals turned out positive for Covid-19.

The DOH noted that 285 duplicates were removed from the total case count, including 204 recoveries, and 38 recoveries were reclassified as deaths.
