DOH reports 1,184 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,184 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the Philippines' total tally to 553,424.

Three laboratories failed to submit data on time, and four duplicate cases were removed from the total count.

Total recoveries increased to 512,033 with 271 additional recoveries, while 53 new fatalities brought the death toll to 11,577.

Thirty cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.

There are now 29,814 active COVID-19 cases nationwide, with 85.4% experiencing mild symptoms.

Data from the DOH shows that 62% of the country's intensive care unit beds are available and 81% of mechanical ventilators are ready for use.

More than 180,000 health workers and millions of senior citizens, indigents, and uniformed personnel have been included in the government's vaccine master list.

A total of 34 hospitals across Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao will be part of the initial rollout of 117,000 doses from Pfizer-BioNTech.
