DOH logs 7,443 new COVID-19 cases, 7,533 recoveries

The Department of Health (DOH) announced 7,533 new COVID-19 recoveries, bringing the total number of survivors to 1,142,246, which is 93.9% of all cases.

The country logged 7,443 new infections, increasing the total number of cases to 1,216,582 and active cases to 53,614.

A total of 156 new deaths were recorded, raising the death toll to 20,722.

Of the active cases, 93.1% have mild symptoms, 2.3% are asymptomatic, 1.8% have severe symptoms, 1.4% are critical, and 1.28% have moderate symptoms.

Based on DOH's May 29 data, 12.5% of the 46,442 tests conducted turned out positive.

Nationwide, 59% of ICU beds, 46% of isolation beds, and 47% of ward beds are in use.

In Metro Manila, 58% of ICU beds, 40% of isolation beds, and 37% of ward beds are occupied.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire noted that the Covid-19 bed capacity in several regions is at "high risk" status (70 percent to 85 percent).
